MEET YOUR TRAINER

Nia Faculty Trainer Janet Hollander

I was first attracted to Nia by its diverse influences. I had studied modern, jazz, and creative dance in school, folk dance with my social group, and dabbled in yoga, judo, and Tai Chi. I was amazed and pleased that someone else had made an integrated program out of my haphazard lifetime curriculum. I attended a master class with Debbie Rosas and Carlos Rosas when they visited my town and I was smitten with a sense of authenticity. I knew I wanted to study with them. Within a year, I registered for my first training. As I began preparing to attend the White Belt, I discovered that Nia provided a refuge of comfortable movement following 20+ years of knee and neck pain. Never an evangelist before, now I wanted everyone to know how much better their bodies could feel. I continued my career as a gerontologist, offering recreation and exercise for older adults, never imagining that my Nia hobby would someday blend with my professional training. And now, I am certain that Nia has not only given me a fitness and lifestyle practice I can do for the rest of my life, but that many elements of Nia philosophy and implementation offer exactly what research is telling us is the path to healthy longevity. Nia provides myriad tools for resilience and sustainability for the body, the mind and the spirit. It addresses the many aspects of wellness, not only physical, but mental, emotional, social, environmental, spiritual, and vocational. I love adding helpful applications of the White Belt curriculum to the latter third of life.

       (live participation is encouraged, however replay access is available)

2)  10 LIVE Online Nia Classes with your Trainer to help you embody and integrate ART OF SENSATION principles and practices

3)  Small Peer Group "PODS" to share learning, connect with your peers and build community

4)  Pre-Training Online Course Portal with materials and information to prepare you for your ART OF SENSATION experience

5)  ONLINE Course Portal* with access to the ART OF SENSATION Curriculum including

Anyone can take the Nia ART OF SENSATION White Belt. 

This course is adaptable to all levels of fitness, experience and abilities.

CANCELLATION + TRANSFER POLICY

Registration and instruction fees are non-refundable. Should you cancel your registration more than 30 days prior to the training start date, the registration fee will be credited to your Nia account. Should you cancel your registration less than 30 days prior to the training start date, you will incur a cancellation fee of $250, which will be deducted from your registration fee. The remaining balance will be credited to your Nia account.
