Susan Sloan

* Being a Nia teacher is like being a curator of the greatest art exhibition ever! If Nia is art, then movement is the brush strokes and I am the paint. I feel so privileged to be able to call myself a Nia Trainer, while every day I learn more about the importance and impact of Nia as an eager student. I am in awe of the artists I work alongside with teaching Nia, and believe that the joy it brings is a mural full of colour and life! Nia allows me to incorporate all my life’s history and celebrate the tapestry of who I am and share with others wholeheartedly. I thrive on discovering creativity and healing, as others emerge with theirs, through Dance and Movement. Nia gives us the opportunity to create and curate a life of stillness, purpose and reach our potential. When more people move their bodies, their purpose will be clear, which will help them build a more meaningful future as architects of their life. Being a Teacher Trainer since 2013, I have learnt that every class, training or workshop is as magical as the first- a blank canvas of endless potential and joy. Susan initially trained as a Hatha Yoga Instructor in 2000 (ISHTA Yoga Teachers-YTF, IYF) and has been teaching yoga and Nia Technique since 2003. In 2003 Susan founded the Nia and Yoga studio in Dunkeld West, Johannesburg, named Studio Kairos. The studio is a co-creation of community; love for our practice as individuals and understanding that together we are strong and designers of a better future for all. Susan has been involved in Health, Movement and Healing since 2000. She teaches at the Old Eds Virgin Active Gym, as well as in corporate and government organizations. Susan is also a Hands-on Healing Reiki Master(Usui)/Trainer and Level 7 Kahuna Massage Therapist and has explored workshops with Gabor Mate on The Wisdom of Trauma and healing. For nearly a decade, Susan has been invited to share Nia Technique Retreats at the famous Buddhist Retreat Centre in Ixopo. KZN (voted by CNN as one of the top 10 places in the world to meditate). Anyone can take the Nia ART OF SENSATION White Belt. 

This course is adaptable to all levels of fitness, experience and abilities.

CANCELLATION + TRANSFER POLICY

Registration and instruction fees are non-refundable. Should you cancel your registration more than 30 days prior to the training start date, the registration fee will be credited to your Nia account. Should you cancel your registration less than 30 days prior to the training start date, you will incur a cancellation fee of $250, which will be deducted from your registration fee. The remaining balance will be credited to your Nia account.
